Youth Consultation

Peterborough Youth Service

2003 - 2004 Report

Foreword

The importance of the Active Involvement of young people is becoming increasingly important and is backed up by the Government’s National Agenda. Young people can, and are, making a significant contribution to the support and development of services.

In Peterborough we are proud of the work being done by young people and managers and staff in our Youth Service who support young people, and we look forward to the further development and transformation that these efforts will produce over the coming years.

I hope you will take the time to read this report, and be as impressed as I am by the range and diversity of the Active Involvement of young people within the Young People’s Office. I am especially proud of the valuable role young people are playing in our city, through projects such as PYPIN (Peterborough Young People's Information Network).

It's also essential to recognise the significant partnerships to which young people have contributed. Partnership work ensures that the relationships between adults and young people are strengthened and developed to become effective in improving services.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the young people and colleagues for their dedication and hard work.
