Our recommendations

Organisational

For the Youth Service to make a conscious effort to involve more young people in youth clubs and projects, to give them the opportunity to develop their personal skills in decision making.
For there to be more than one Youth Worker in the Young People’s Office, to better spread out the workload and incorporate more activities.
For more resources to help to promote the Young People’s Office and the work that goes on here, and to raise awareness for young people in regards to what is available to them.
Co-ordinate the different types of involvement, to deliver a stronger and more sustainable approach or service.
Develop the YCP site more and its approach to encouraging young people to get involved.

Young people

More accreditation for the efforts of young people, through certificates or letters etc.
For more support for encouraging existing groups of young people across the City to work as partners with adults, including using the Young People’s Office as a platform for Citywide representation.

Professional

Development of a professional framework to support agencies or organisations to develop a Strategy of involvement for Young People.
Offer a career route for young people to establish a professional qualification whilst working within the Youth Service.
